Roger Brown
SVP, Head of Commercial Banking
Roger is a forward-thinking organisational leader with 15 years’ experience in corporate finance and business development. Passionate about building high-performing teams, Roger has supported numerous organisations from large corporates to middle market enterprises across multiple industries in North America. As Clarien’s SVP, Head of Commercial Banking, he is responsible for leading the Bank’s Commercial Banking division and managing a growing portfolio of high value client relationships in the commercial, corporate and institution sectors. As part of the Bank’s senior management team, he is also tasked with providing leadership and direction to support Clarien in achieving market share growth, delivering meaningful value to clients and overseeing the operations of the business unit.
In addition to a Master of Finance from the Rotman School of Managament at the University of Toronto, Canada, Roger has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University’s DeGoote School of Business. He began his career in 2010 at Canada’s Scotiabank as an Associate in Commercial Banking and rose to Associate Group Lead, Commercial Banking between November 2018 and January 2020. Before moving to Bermuda to take up the post with Clarien Bank, Roger worked for four years at Laurentian Bank in Toronto as Regional Vice President, AVP Business Development in Commercial Banking, where he was responsible for business banking operations and growth strategy for the bank’s footprint in Ontario and Western Canada.
Amy Clarke
Senior Relationship Manager
With a dynamic background encompassing over a decade of proven excellence in financial services, Amy Clarke stands out as a seasoned Senior Relationship Manager.
Reporting to the SVP, Head of Commercial Banking, Ms Clarke’s mandate involves steering the growth and management of a portfolio of high-value commercial clients, ensuring their ventures thrive through strategic financial solutions.
Ms Clarke’s professional journey began at OC Business Bank (2007-2016), where as VP/Portfolio Manager, she adeptly cultivated business client relationships, providing bespoke financial advice. The transition to a Licensed Realtor at Circle Real Estate in 2015, showcased Ms Clarke’s versatility, excelling in market analysis and negotiation. Since 2018, Ms Clarke has further solidified her expertise as a Financial Broker with the World Financial Group, where strategic financial planning and analysis were key components of her role.
In her current position as Senior Relationship Manager at Clarien Bank, Ms Clarke embraces the ethos of client-first, needs-based culture, focusing on enhancing client experiences. Her responsibilities extend to collaborating with various teams across the bank to deepen relationships, manage risk, support credit underwriting, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Her robust skill set includes unparalleled communication, leadership, analytical prowess, and a comprehensive knowledge in real estate and insurance products, which are instrumental in navigating the complexities of commercial banking. Ms Clarke embodies a blend of vision, diligence, and an unwavering commitment to fostering and managing valuable client relationships, making her a pillar of professional excellence at our organisation.
Nicholas Moulder
Relationship Manager
Thanks to his five years’ experience in brand management, logistics and marketing, Nicholas Moulder has developed a varied skillset including effective communication, relationship building and leadership abilities. As a Relationship Manager at Clarien, Nicholas puts those skills to good use and is primarily responsible for the management of existing and development of new commercial banking relationships with Clarien Bank. He also takes part in the day to day management and the enforcement of policies and procedures of the Commercial Banking department.
In his previous profession, Nicholas worked with Burrows Lightbourn as a Brand Manager, overseeing a portfolio of five key brands including Heineken. While there, he was responsible for creating and managing relationships with 182 different accounts across the Island, increasing sales by 20% over a five year period, through the implementation of various sales and marketing initiatives.
Nicholas is a graduate of the University of Huddersfield, in the U.K., where he graduated with first-class honours (2.1). He is also the recipient of numerous scholarships (ABIC and PartnerRe).
Paul Brown
Associate Relationship Manager
As an Associate Relationship Manager, Paul Brown is considered to be highly motivated and brings many years of knowledge of financial administration and client service to his role at Clarien. Currently responsible for developing and managing relationships with small business entities and generating new business, Paul also assists the Commercial Banking department in achieving profitability, sales and quality service objectives. Additionally, he helps to develop solutions through the use of the Bank’s products and services to meet commercial clients’ needs.
Paul is a past recipient of Clarien’s CEO Award, an honour presented annually to a Bank employee who goes above and beyond by showing up authentically each day, being client-driven and consistently acting with integrity. Formerly a member of Clarien’s Client Service Centre, Paul has proven himself to think innovatively, focus on teamwork in day-to-day interactions, and dependably deliver on our Purpose.
Florence Smith
VP, Head of Payments
Florence Smith works closely with the Chief Banking Officer, Chief Wealth Management Officer and other key stakeholders to build, execute and evaluate the product and service suite to support Clarien Bank’s eChannels, including Debit & Credit Cards, Merchant Acquiring, eCommerce and ATM infrastructures. She is responsible for building product lines and business understanding performance and increasing revenues for each product line.
Florence was previously Group Head, Vice President Head of Merchant Services at Butterfield Group with responsibility for Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, and was instrumental in the growth and profitability of the Bank’s merchant services portfolio. She has held progressively senior positions in banking and e-commerce industries and was among the first payment professionals to receive a Certified Payments Professional designation from the Washington D.C.-based Electronic Transaction Association (ETA). ETA is the international trade association representing more than 500 companies that offer electronic transaction processing products and services (companies include Apple, Amazon Google and PayPal).
Florence holds designations and diplomas in hotel management from the American Hotel and Motel Association and Bermuda College, and has served on the Business Technology Division of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce.
