Ian Truran - Director and Chief Executive Officer
Ian

With more than three decades in banking, Ian Truran has helped shape the evolution of Bermuda’s financial services landscape – and continues to steer Clarien’s vision for the future.

Ian serves as Chief Executive Officer of Clarien Bank, leading the organisation’s strategic direction, client-centric culture and long-term growth. He also chairs the boards of Clarien’s subsidiaries and sits on the Board of Directors of the Bank.

He has more than 30 years’ experience in the banking sector, including over 25 years in senior leadership. He joined Capital G Bank in 2001 as Senior Vice President, Head of Credit Risk Management, and later served as Executive Vice President overseeing Branch Banking, Private Banking, Lending, Business Banking, Compliance and Credit Risk. In 2010, he was appointed President and CEO of Capital G, continuing in that role through the Bank’s rebrand to Clarien.

Earlier in his career, Ian held senior positions at another Bermuda-based bank, with a focus on lending, credit risk and private banking.

He is actively involved in the community and has previously served as an Executive Member of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Bermuda Board of Education, Treasurer of the International Charitable Foundation of Bermuda, and President of the Bermuda Equestrian Federation.

Ian holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University, a Diploma of Graduation from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking and a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors. He also earned a Wharton Leadership Certificate from The Wharton School and is an alumnus of the London Business School.
