Clarien to Implement 2% Annual Fee on CHF Balances
Effective November 7, 2025, Clarien Bank Limited will introduce a standard negative interest fee of 2% per annum on Swiss Franc (CHF) account balances. This change follows the Swiss National Bank’s reduction of its policy interest rate to zero percent earlier this year.
The fee will be accrued daily and charged monthly. Clients wishing to convert CHF balances to another currency may request a special FX conversion rate by contacting their Relationship Manager.
Dormant Account Policy Change

After consideration of the interest rate environment, recent trends and the decision by the US Fed’s recent decrease of the Fed rate by 0.25%, a change to the Clarien base lending rate is forthcoming:
Commencing: 1 October 2025 (Wednesday)
BMD Base Rate: Reduction 0.25%
Personal BMD Base: from 6.25% to 6.00%)
Commercial BMD Base: from 6.50% to 6.25%)
USD Prime Rate: No change. Clarien US Prime is 7.25%
